Six months ago, we witnessed the launch of The Murmur House, a community that publishes the literary works of young writers on Murmur Journal. The biannual English publication comprises hearty and diverse body of work, from short stories, poetry, or essays, with accompanying illustrations and photographs.

The literary journal showcases the inner and eloquent voices of writers aged 18-29 years old.

And now the second issue of Murmur Journal has arrived, with the theme being “Love and Other Drugs,” in hopes to deliver all kinds of emotion provoked by the actions of loving and being loved.

“As much as we are tempted to cringe at the endurance of love as a part of our collective experience…’Love? Who has time for that these days anyway?’ We secretly yearn for it no matter how battered or whole that love may be," said Dwiputri Pertiwi, its head editor.

“Not only the yearn and desire of love are going to be divulged in this issue, but also the pain and pleasure of searching love itself that has become an addictive process to us all, humans.”

As with the first one, the publication of the second issue will be accompanied by Murmuration #2, a gathering of readers and writers. The event will be held on May 9th, 2015 at 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Kedai, Jl. Benda No. 89, Kemang, South Jakarta.

There will be reading, music performances and the likes in exchange of Rp 10,000 donations. The reading will be performed by a list of young writers, such as Ben K. C. Laksana, Dylan Amirio, Rebecca Kezia, Armandio Alif, Rain Chudori, Syarafina Vidyadhana, Talissa Febra, Ayu Meutia, Pangeran Siahaan, Andhyta Firselly Utami, Dea Anugrah, and Dinda Ibrahim. Amygdala and The Colour Mellow will perform their best tunes.
