Hello Magdalene readers! Perhaps it was just me, but July was a really shit month. Thanks to Mercury, the communication planet, going haywire for most of the month, nothing really seemed to fall into place. Tempers flared, miscommunications were rife, and travel plans (in fact, all plans) were disrupted. You may have felt as if you were struggling to make progress in all and any parts of your life, but the good news is that things are starting to come together again, and August promises to be a MUCH better month - one with a range of sweet aspects that will let you enjoy yourself in the Sun. Thank goodness for that!
Here’s how it is all going to go down:
31 July/1 August: New Moon in Leo
The New Moon in Leo at the beginning of the month opens up a 10 day window for good things to manifest in our lives. After a tricky July, this is like getting a new lease of life and you need to make the most of it. Set your intentions now and then sit back and watch as others give you their support. Ask and you shall probably receive, although you will need to wait until the end of the month for everything to fall into place exactly as you want it.
15/16 August: Full Moon in Aquarius
This Full Moon in the sign of Aquarius could bring things to a head as this is the sign of the Water-Bearer which is all about activism and the collective. We could see a major political movement at this time like mass protests, or a technological breakthrough as Aquarius also rules technology. On a personal note, we may want to be with others around this time and be less prone to being by ourselves, so this is a gregarious aspect that begs you to go out and have fun.

Leo
Happy Birthday, Leo! This month you have the Sun in your First House of image so the spotlight is on you. Fortunately, this is where you thrive, so this is the time to really put yourself out there, as only a Leo can. Throughout July you may have felt as if you were all over the place all the time, as your emotions swung from one end of the spectrum to the other. Now you will feel a lot more grounded and you will be able to get things done in a way you couldn’t do over the past few months. Now is the chance to strike out and do all the things you have been building towards, so don’t be shy about coming forward Leo. You may also have suffered from a rocky love life in recent months, but now Jupiter the Planet of Good Luck goes direct in your Fifth House, meaning that a relationship could get back on track, or you could meet “The One” if you’re single. This is a month when everything glitters for you, Leo!
Virgo
This month sees the Sun in your Twelfth House, Virgo, which means getting back to basics. The Twelfth House rules your inner life and your spiritual realm, so you could find that you feel more contemplative than usual. It could also be that your dreams are more vivid now, and you need to pay attention to them as they could be trying to tell you something very important. This is really a time to look within and practice like meditation might be just what you need to get everything back in balance again after some emotional or mental turmoil of late. Jupiter also goes direct in your Fourth House of Home after 11 August and so you could see your home life expanding now. It’s a great time to do some repairs or redecorate your home, or you may decide that you want to spend more time with family and friends. If that’s the case, then make family and home a priority now as the stars back you all the way.
Libra
Throughout most of August you have the Sun in your Eleventh House of Friends and Groups, so this is where things really shine for you. It could be that you decide to try a new business venture linked to the people close to you, and if that sounds like something you may enjoy, then it looks set to be quite lucrative for you. It could also be that you want to try joint collaborations with others in all parts of your life, and this is where you will have to learn to negotiate and split up funds or revenue between various people. Luckily, the stars say that you will be able to pull all of this off, and it could be that you get a lucky break at work, or an opportunity that allows you to make more money than you have in some time. Whatever you do, try to make sure that you embrace all opportunities for expansion now, as they could come in forms you never even imagined possible.
Scorpio
If you want to hunker down, now is the time to do it, Scorpio, as you have the Sun in your Tenth House of Work and Ambition in August. For a while now, you may have felt as if you work life was at a crossroads, or you could have felt like you got nothing done in July (to be honest - most of us felt this way!). Now however, you get to hit the ground running, and there is even more good news as you have Jupiter, Planet of Abundance, in your Second House of Income. If you put the two aspects together, then now is the perfect time for you to make some serious cash through your work, so you need to think about things like a great savings plan and don’t turn down any work opportunities that come your way. If your relationships have been tricky lately, then you may feel a shift in August as you start to find your feet again and work through some of the issues which have been brewing all summer long. It will still probably take until September to get back on an even footing, but you are making progress.
Sagittarius
This month sees the Sun in your Ninth House of Travel, Sagittarius, and you can expect to be on the go throughout most of the month. From your chart, it would appear that there are lots of opportunities to travel at this time, and this could be for business or pleasure. There is even more exciting news on the way for you this month, as we have Jupiter turning direct in your sign, which means that you will be blessed with celestial good luck now which could take many forms. This, in essence, crowns you as the celestial favorite, and although Jupiter has been in your sign since last year, it has been retrograde recently which is why you may have felt as if you were wading through mud trying to get anything done. Now the tides turn however, and you will be in the spotlight and opportunities will surround you. But you also need to remember to embrace them if you want to make the most of this time which lasts until December 2019.
Capricorn
This month the Sun is in your Eighth House which is all about other people’s money and your inner life, Capricorn. At the same time, you have Jupiter turning direct in your Twelfth House, which is the house of your inner consciousness and healing. As such, you may find that this is quite a contemplative month when you prefer to stay indoors and not do too much. If you can find a way to take time off, then now would be a great time for you to have a holiday, but if you can’t then at least try to take some time to yourself and focus on self-care. This is a month when a lot could come out in the wash for you, if you give it some time and space. This could mean that you end August in a very different frame of mind than when you started it, and something like a new spiritual practice or similar could be on the cards for you. As a down-to-earth Capricorn you may be sniffy about things like yoga, but approach everything with an open mind!
Aquarius
This month you have the Sun in your Seventh House of Committed Relationships, and these could be business or personal relationships, Aquarius. This month is all about the power of collaboration, and the good news is that you also have Jupiter in your Eleventh House of Teams and Groups. This means that there is so much power in teaming up now rather than going it alonem even if that is something that your independent sign often prefers. There are so many ways in which your life could change this month, and some of these surprises may be difficult for you to deal with, but remember to explore everything before you say a firm “no.” Romance also sparkles for you this month with your Seventh House all lit up, and that means that you could meet someone if you’re single, or take the next step if you are part of a couple.
Pisces
For most of August you find the Sun in your Sixth House, which is the House of Wellness. This is about your health and your overall routines, so this is a good time to hunker down and sort out a few areas of your life. Throughout July, you may have felt as if you were plagued with issues and as if nothing ever really came together properly. As a result, this is really the time for you to work on putting together a plan to get everything back on track, where it may have felt as if it was all going off the rails. If you want to start a new diet, or if you have been lax about your exercise routine lately, then now is the time to get back in the saddle. You also have Jupiter in your Tenth House, which rules Ambition, this month, and this is where you may make great strides forward. It’s the ideal time for you to launch a new project, especially if something got stuck when Mercury was retrograde throughout most of July.
Aries
Throughout the month of August you will find the Sun in your Fifth House of True Love, Aries, so your mind may well be on love and children. If you are attached then you could take the plunge now and ask a partner to marry you or move in! If you are single, then this is a wonderful time to spread your wings and get out there and mingle. You also now have Jupiter powering through your Ninth House of Travel, and with that in mind you could get the chance to go to far flung shores in the next few months, either for work, pleasure or study purposes. The world opens up for you now, but you also need to remember to embrace the opportunities when they come, so aim to keep an open mind. Some chances may not come in the form you wanted them to, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t right for you Aries.
Taurus
Home is where you heart will be for much of the month of August, Taurus, and you may want to hunker down and stay inside when others go out to play. There is nothing wrong with this approach at all, and actually you may find that you want to move house at this time or just redecorate your nest to make a house feel more like a home. Your inner circle will feel especially close to you now, so it is also a great time to plan family events and spend time with those you love the most. The other thing of note this month is that you have Jupiter, the Planet of Miracles, in your Eighth House. This is the house that rules shared income and relationships, and you may find that you get closer to someone now or that you move in with a partner or start planning to have a baby. This is a very deep cycle for you, but the key now is really to aim high. The chances are that if you ask for what you want out of life, you may well get it. Just make sure you do so in a patient and calm way, as the details will likely not be fixed until September.
Gemini
This month sees the Sun in your Third House of Communication, Gemini, and this is also your ruling house. As a result, you are in a better mood than you have been for some time and communication issues will start to work themselves out after a very rocky July. Throughout the last month, your ruler Mercury went retrograde, which meant that you had issues with travel, technology and getting your message out there. Now however, this starts to correct course and you will find that people are easier to work with now and more keen to listen to what you have to say. You also have Jupiter, the Planet of Good Luck, in your Seventh House this month which is the House of Committed Partnerships. Not only will you feel closer to your loved ones, but you could find that you get a lucky work opportunity if you team up and collaborate with others. Keep your eyes open, Gemini!
Cancer
There is some good news for you this month, Cancer, as the Sun is in your Second House of Finance! For quite a while now, money matters have been at the front of your mind, and you may have struggled to get your financial affairs in order. Now you get the chance to start to put things right, and, hopefully, you have learned some lessons along the way from the last few months when money seemed to fly out of your pocket as fast as you made it. You could get some financial luck through your work, and it will feel especially sweet to receive money that you have actually earned rather than just borrowed from a friend or a family member. It would also be fair to say that you have had a pretty tough time of it lately with a number of other things, and you could have been going through something of an identity crisis. Now you get to start putting the pieces back together, and working out who you really are and what you want out of life. Luckily, you have Jupiter in your Sixth House of Health and Wellness which is here to give you a helping hand. Start eating a healthier diet, exercising and taking the time to work on your mental health. It will all help.
